Beyond a Simple Yes/No

A coin flip only answers a two-option question. This tool takes any list of custom options — restaurants, movies, chores, anything — and optionally lets some options carry more weight than others, then spins a wheel to make the call with genuinely secure randomness.

How to Use This Tool

  1. 1Enter your optionsAnything — restaurants, movies, chores, or a simple yes/no.
  2. 2Optionally weight themMake some options more likely to be picked than others.
  3. 3SpinA fair, cryptographically random pick with a spinning-wheel animation.
  4. 4Adjust and spin againAdd, remove, or edit options anytime — the wheel updates instantly.

Good to Know

  • This isn't limited to yes/no — add any number of custom options for things like "where should we eat" or "whose turn is it to do the dishes."
  • Weighting is optional — turn it on to make an option, say, twice as likely by giving it a weight of 2 instead of 1.
  • The spin animation is purely visual — the actual result is determined first using secure randomness, then the wheel animates to land on it.
  • Nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere — it exists only in your browser for this session.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from the Random Name Picker?

They share the same spinning-wheel mechanic, but this tool is built for deciding between a small set of custom options (like "pizza vs. sushi") rather than picking one name out of a larger list, and adds optional weighting for options that should be more or less likely.

What does weighting actually do?

A higher weight makes that option take up a proportionally larger slice of the wheel — a weight of 2 next to weight-1 options means it's roughly twice as likely to be picked.

Is the outcome really random, or can it be rigged?

It's genuinely random — the result is chosen first using your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, before the wheel animation is even calculated.

How many options can I add?

No hard limit — though a very large number of options makes the wheel's labels harder to read.
