Good to Know

  • Ages are counted in whole calendar months, the way forms and exam notifications count them, not by dividing days by an average month length.
  • The result does not shift by a day with your timezone; dates are treated as plain calendar dates.
  • For a 29 February birthday, the birthday in other years is counted on 28 February.
  • Exam rules can differ: some exams count the age on 1 January or 1 August, and relaxation depends on category and post. Always confirm with the official notification.
  • Nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere; it all runs in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate my exact age?

Enter your date of birth. The calculator counts full years, then full months, then the days left over, up to today or any date you choose. For example, someone born on 15 June 1995 is 31 years 3 months 18 days old on 3 October 2026.

How do I check my age for a government exam?

Open "Exam age limit", enter the cutoff date from the notification (often 1 January or 1 August of the exam year), the minimum and maximum age, and your relaxation if any. You will see your age on that date, whether you are within the limit, and the range of birth dates that qualify, such as "born between 2 Aug 1998 and 1 Aug 2008" for 18–27 years on 1 August 2026.

What age relaxation do OBC, SC/ST and PwBD candidates get?

In most central government exams such as SSC and UPSC, the upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST and 10 years for PwBD (more for PwBD candidates who are also OBC or SC/ST). Ex-servicemen and some other groups have their own rules. These are typical values; the exam notification is final.

Am I eligible if I turn the maximum age on the cutoff date?

If the maximum age is 27, you are within the limit for the whole year you are 27, and over it from your 28th birthday. If you turn 28 exactly on the cutoff date, you are over the limit. The birth-date range shown in the calculator follows this rule.

Can I find my age on a past or future date?

Yes. Change the "Age on" date to any day, for example to see how old you will be on an exam date or how old you were when something happened.

How do I find the age difference between two people?

Open "Age difference" and enter both dates of birth. You will see who is older and by how many years, months and days.

Is this age calculator free?

Yes, completely free, with no sign-up and no limit on how many dates you check.
