Good to Know

  • Built-in holiday lists follow each country's official rules, including substitute days — for example, when 4 July falls on a Saturday, US federal offices close on Friday 3 July.
  • Indian festival holidays such as Diwali and Holi follow the lunar calendar and differ by state, so add them yourself as dates in the "Add your own holidays" box.
  • "Add N business days" is the reverse-direction mode — useful for project planning or legal-deadline contexts like "this takes 10 business days, so what's the actual deadline?"
  • Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are always excluded automatically in both modes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many business days are left in the year?

Tap "Rest of this year" — it counts from today to 31 December, skipping weekends and the public holidays you picked. It updates every day, so the answer is always current.

Does it skip public holidays?

Yes. Choose United States federal holidays, United Kingdom (England & Wales) bank holidays, or India's national holidays, and add your own dates such as company days off. Every skipped holiday is listed by name under the result.

What date is 7-10 business days from today?

Switch to "Find a date", type 7-10 as the number of business days, and the tool shows the date range — the usual way to read a shipping or processing estimate.

What counts as a "business day"?

Monday through Friday, excluding any dates you've listed as holidays.

Can I count backwards from a deadline?

Yes — in "Find a date", choose Before. For example, 10 business days before a filing date tells you when to start.

Are the start and end dates counted?

Both are counted by default when they fall on a business day. Untick "Count the start date" to count from tomorrow — handy for "how many working days until…" questions.
