A Real Board, Not Just a List

A flat to-do list stops being useful once anything has multiple steps or needs tracking through stages. This is a proper three-column Kanban board — drag cards between To Do, In Progress, and Done, break any card into a subtask checklist, tag a priority, and set a due date — all saved locally, with an Export option any time you want a backup or to move it elsewhere.

How to Use This Tool

  1. 1Pick a starting pointStart blank, or from a Personal, Freelance Project, or Content Calendar template with a few seed cards.
  2. 2Add tasks quicklyType a task and a phrase like "tomorrow" or "in 3 days" — the due date is picked up automatically.
  3. 3Drag cards between columnsTo Do, In Progress, and Done — drag a card onto another card to reorder it, or onto a column to move it.
  4. 4Open a card for detailSet its priority and due date, or add a subtask checklist for anything with multiple steps.

Good to Know

  • Quick-add understands a handful of common phrasings at the end of what you type — "today", "tomorrow", "in N days", and "next <weekday>" — anything else is kept as plain text with no due date guessed.
  • The board is saved to your browser's local storage automatically as you go — use Export to save a JSON backup, or to move your board to a different browser or device via Import.
  • Starting a new board (or importing one) replaces your current cards, so export first if you want to keep what's there.
  • Each card has a "Start a Pomodoro for this task" link that opens the Pomodoro Timer with the task name already filled in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add more columns than To Do / In Progress / Done?

Not currently — the board is fixed to these three, which covers the large majority of personal and small-project use cases without adding setup complexity.

What exactly does the quick-add date parsing understand?

A small, deliberately limited set of phrases at the end of your text: "today", "tomorrow", "in 3 days" (any number), and "next monday" (any weekday). It's pattern matching, not a general language parser, so anything else is just kept as the task title.

Will my board sync between my phone and my computer?

No — it's stored only in the browser you're using. Use Export to download a JSON file and Import it in another browser to move your board over manually.

What happens to subtasks if I move a card between columns?

Nothing — subtasks stay attached to the card exactly as they are through any move or reorder.

Is this free, and is there a limit on how many cards I can add?

Yes, completely free, with no card limit — the only practical ceiling is your browser's local storage capacity, which is far more than typical task lists need.
