A Notepad That Doesn't Ask You to Save

Built for the kind of note you want open and typed into within a second — no save button, no account, no upload. Keep multiple notes side by side in the sidebar, color-tag them for quick scanning, and switch to Preview whenever you want to see Markdown formatting rendered instead of raw syntax.

How to Use This Tool

  1. 1Start typingEvery keystroke is auto-saved to your browser a moment after you stop typing — no save button needed.
  2. 2Add more notes as neededClick "New Note" for a fresh page; switch between notes from the sidebar list.
  3. 3Preview Markdown formattingToggle Preview to see bold, italic, lists, and tables rendered — the same formatting used in the Markdown Previewer.
  4. 4Export or print when doneDownload as a .txt file, or use the print button for a clean, chrome-free printed page.

Good to Know

  • Markdown formatting is optional — plain text works exactly as typed, and Markdown syntax (**bold**, - lists, tables) only renders once you switch to Preview.
  • Color tags are purely visual, meant for scanning your note list at a glance — they don't affect anything else about the note.
  • Word count and reading time update live as you type, using the same estimate (200 words per minute) as the Word Counter tool.
  • Because notes are stored in this browser's local storage, clearing your browser data will remove them — export anything important as a backup first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a limit to how many notes I can keep?

No hard limit from the tool itself — you're bounded by your browser's local storage capacity, which is typically several megabytes and far more than plain text notes would use.

Does the notepad sync between devices?

No — notes are stored only in the browser you're using on that device. Export a note as .txt if you need to move it somewhere else.

What Markdown features are supported in the preview?

The same GitHub-flavored Markdown as the Markdown Previewer — headings, bold/italic, lists, tables, checkboxes, and code blocks.

Can I recover a deleted note?

No — deleting a note removes it immediately with no undo, so it's worth exporting anything you might want to keep before deleting.

Is this free to use?

Yes — completely free, no account, and no limit on note length or count.
