Frequently Asked Questions
What is FLAMES?
A classic, long-running name game — cross out the letters two names have in common, and whatever's left over selects a result by counting through Friends, Lovers, Affectionate, Marriage, Enemies, and Siblings. It's a schoolyard tradition, not a scientific method.
Does the percentage mean anything real?
No — it's a deterministic number generated from the letters in both names, purely for a fun, shareable result. The same two names will always produce the same result, but it isn't measuring anything about an actual relationship.
Is my name data stored anywhere?
No — the calculation runs entirely in your browser and nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
