What Is a UPI QR Code?

A UPI QR code encodes your UPI ID (and optionally an amount and a note) so that scanning it opens a pre-filled payment screen in the payer's UPI app — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or any other. It is the standard way small businesses, freelancers, and individuals across India collect instant digital payments without a card machine, following the same `upi://pay` link format every UPI app already recognizes.

How to Use This Generator

  1. 1Enter your UPI IDType your UPI ID (VPA), such as yourname@okhdfcbank or yourname@ybl.
  2. 2Add payee name and amount (optional)Add your name so payers recognize you, and a fixed amount if this is for a specific payment.
  3. 3Add a note (optional)Include a short note like an invoice number so you can identify the payment later.
  4. 4Download and shareDownload the QR code and display it at your counter, on invoices, or share it digitally.

Who Uses a UPI QR Code

  • Small shop owners and street vendors who want an instant, cardless way to accept payments without a POS terminal.
  • Freelancers and service providers sending a scan-to-pay code alongside an invoice, instead of sharing bank details manually.
  • Event organizers collecting ticket or contribution payments at a fixed amount, without handling cash.
  • Anyone splitting a bill or collecting a one-off payment from friends or family — generate, share the image, done.

Good to Know

  • Works with any UPI app — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, and your bank's own app.
  • Leave the amount blank if you want the payer to enter it themselves, useful for a general payment QR at a shop counter.
  • Set a fixed amount for one-off payments — invoices, event tickets, or specific product prices.
  • Double-check your UPI ID before sharing the code widely — an incorrect ID means payments won't reach you.
  • This is a standard, static UPI QR code — it does not track or log payments; your bank/UPI app handles the transaction directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this UPI QR code generator free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up. The QR code is generated in your browser using your UPI ID — nothing is sent to or stored on our servers.

Which apps can scan this UPI QR code?

Any UPI-enabled app can scan it, including Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, and most Indian banking apps.

Can I create a QR code for a fixed amount?

Yes. Enter an amount when generating the code, and the payer's UPI app will pre-fill that amount automatically. Leave it blank to let the payer enter any amount.

Is my UPI ID or payment information stored anywhere?

No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser. We never see, log, or store your UPI ID, amount, or any transaction details — and this tool has no connection to any payment or transaction record.

Can I reuse the same QR code for multiple payments?

Yes, if you leave the amount field blank — the same code can be scanned repeatedly, with each payer entering their own amount. A fixed-amount code is best used for a single, specific payment.

What happens if I enter my UPI ID incorrectly?

The payment will fail or, worse, go to the wrong person if the mistyped ID happens to belong to someone else — always double-check the UPI ID carefully, and consider doing a small test scan yourself before sharing the code widely.

Do I need a business account to generate a UPI QR code?

No — any personal UPI ID linked to a bank account works. Businesses commonly use a dedicated merchant UPI ID for accounting reasons, but it isn't a requirement to generate or use a scan-to-pay code.
